Resistant starches
Resistant starches, a.k.a. prebiotics that feed your good gut flora, sound great but can be challenging to consume in sufficient quantities. The tastiest and easiest way we've found is potato starch. Mixed into a morning smoothie, it sets you up with a good protein footprint for the day. The current favorite combo is Lifetime's vegan protein powder (two scoops on most mornings, sometimes three for heavy workout days), Bob's Red Mill Potato Starch (1-2 tablespoons, build up to it), Dynamic Greens for flavor and Kefir for a probiotic shot (2 oz).
